Safe Management of Hazardous Substances (SMHS) Audit Services

The Pollution Control Department (PCD) of the National Environment Agency (NEA) licenses the import, sale, storage, transportation and use of hazardous chemicals. Besides putting in place stringent regulatory controls, companies need to have adequate and effective systems to ensure safe management of hazardous chemicals.

The Safety Audit Scheme allows companies to systematically identify and rectify weaknesses in their management systems and practices of handling hazardous chemicals, once every two years. Companies under the Scheme can either conduct their own safety audit studies in-house or engage National Environment Agency (NEA) accredited consultants to do so on their behalf.

TÜV SÜD PSB is accredited by the National Environmental Agency (NEA) as an accredited organisation for conducting safety audits.  To better serve industry needs, TÜV SÜD PSB also conducts Integrated Management System Audits, as a value-added service to our clients, which includes a combination of any of the existing schemes that your company may have i.e. ISO 9000, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18000 Safety Management System Audits (mandatory audits under MOM requirement) and Safe Management of Hazardous Substances (mandatory audits under NEA requirement).
